Sony ran its September 2026 State of Play as a two-part broadcast — a standard global showcase followed by a dedicated Japan and Asia segment ahead of Tokyo Game Show. Between the two, more than 20 titles got airtime. Here are the reveals worth knowing about.
Biggest surprise: GTA 6 itself didn't appear, but Sony announced two GTA 6-themed DualSense controllers launching alongside the game on November 19, with pre-orders opening September 10.
Release Dates Confirmed
Got its official release date during the showcase — one of the most anticipated JRPGs of the year finally has a confirmed launch window.
The choice-and-consequence horror sequel follows a ghost-hunting reality show crew traveling to Akishima Island. It's set to launch January 28, 2027.
Sucker Punch's Ghost of Yotei is getting a Complete Edition on October 1, bundling the base game with a story expansion called Echoes of Sekigahara and a new roguelike combat mode called Most Wanted — which even brings back Jin from Ghost of Tsushima as a playable character.
